BIOSWITCH holds its second General Assembly Meeting

All the BIOSWITCH consortium members gathered in an online General Assembly meeting on 19 and 20 May, 2021, to assess the activities performed in the first period of the project and plan for the upcoming tasks.

During these 12 months, our consortium carried out an impressive work to develop and map the overall project’s framework, researching and analysing the main needs, risks and motivations perceived by brand owners when switching to bio-based approaches. In order to do that, we launched a survey, held a set of interviews, and hosted four regional and one pan-European workshops. Moreover, we created a self-assessment test for brand owners to evaluate at which stage of the bio-based journey they are, and we have developed a set of communication-type tools to assist them in their transition, including a set of different success cases that could serve them as guide and inspiration.

Now, we enter the second phase of the project, which will serve to finalise the LCA tool that VTT is developing, as well as to test and validate the whole BIOSWITCH toolbox. Likewise, we will work on the roll-out and replication of the project, preparing a training programme for brand owners, and boosting this initiative’s reach among all type of stakeholders including consumers and policymakers.
